The Telling Presence of Flamingos in Mumbai

Dozens of flamingos have flocked to Mumbai as a result of the coronavirus. Their presence is not only a uniquely uplifting sight, but a symbol that provides profound meaningful insight.
Firstly, the coronavirus brought upon protocols which have caused the air pollution in Mumbai to decrease immensely — creating a comfortable environment for the pink birds. The annual average in 2018 exceeded the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines by more than 5 times.
Additionally, this newfound presence in Mumbai is a result of several million residents who’ve followed the protocols during lockdown. In addition to working from home and limited social gatherings, liquor shops remain closed, the railway, metro, taxis and other forms of public transportation are not allowed, and nobody is allowed to move around between 7pm and 7am.
There is no denying the tragic impact of coronavirus, but for those who seek a positive perspective — in Mumbai, the silver-lining is pink.
